Book Reviews

This book shows kids that there is a lot more to life than what they usually do at home and there are people who do this. It is also well illustrated and shows that the boy has a knack for business and selling of goods. The counting is also catchy and the book is just generally captivating and educational. Lastly the activity at the back would be a fun way for kids to test what they’ve learned

We started off with “On the Water” and the children enjoyed [reading about] the little boy and his adventures as they designed a character profile to describe who they thought he was and how he inspired them. They looked up where he was from in Nigeria and connected the settings to the SDG goals they had been learning. This helped them to predict what kind of help he would need in bringing gifts to the environment on his next trip. So they wrote a second part of the book as they decided to bring gifts from the different countries they were from to the boy for his trip!
